april snapshot

Before I plunge into a new month, I like to reflect on the four weeks prior, especially those people, events, and things that inspired me in the world of beauty & wellness. Here's a look at just some of what went down in April.

I passed boards! Hence, I jumped for joy.

In celebration of Earth Day, attendees of The Good Fest (aka a really awesome wellness event put on by my super fab friends) got to make their very own batch of DIY coconut and coffee scrub at my booth to take home. Don’t worry, I’m posting it on the blog soon so you can experience its magic.

I went back in time with some epic finger waves, courtesy of my cosmetologist friend Adrien, and a bold red lip by fellow esthetician, Andrea. I loved it. My husband didn’t quite get it.

Our first anniversary celebration lasted a whole week, and consisted of a meal out to our favorite restaurant, a scrappy afternoon of tennis, and a romantic dinner in. 4 words: Mark Bittman’s Tomato Paella. And normally I don't buy tomatoes until summer, but my Mom brought some hothouse-grown beauties up from North Carolina.

I finally experienced Biologique Recherche, the impossible-to-find skincare line with a cult following at Rescue Spa. I had a treat yo’self kind of afternoon, booked a facial, and waltzed out glowing, but not before snapping a picture of their giant rose bouquet. The post-facial selfie was mandatory.

Here we come, May!
